Few things you may try...

1. WHITE BALANCE: Set as "preset" (take a picture you think is white). You will get consistent color for all the pictures.
2. LONG EXP.: Take moon and sky picture separate then layer them together. (Moon exp. time is same as day light). My D3x is much batter, it still have noise after 14 mins or longer(some kind "average"noise, hard to clean it).
