I had a samilar experience 7 years ago when a major holding of mine went from $45 a share to $0.6 a share in a period of 18 months. To make the matter worse I kept adding at around $4 a share. When the price stablized at $2, I came to conclusion that the game was over. I sold 95% of the stock. However I refused to believe the company was dead. I bought back a small number of shares at $0.9 a share.
In retrospect, I should have sold all of the shares despict of my belief of its future recovery. Tax loss is money too. Each case is different, the idea is the same. Keep the dream alive.
