The above said is true. In addition, m* rating is based on historical returns. If you watch m* reports over the years, you will see some funds rating drop/raise if they did well/bad.

Again, historical return does not guarantee. It is the fund manager that we can rely on. If a manager changed, it is better to keep a closer look.
