- flash is definitely useful for indoors shots. if you will go extra miles, you can get Gary Fong light dome for better diffuse effect.. (if you google it, you will see some demo video)

- i have seen people use external flash to shoot parade. it will remove the eye shadow. even more, the flash will put the sparks in the subject eyes which makes the pictures a little better.
