1 volume oat meal, 2 volume water in a big bowl,
microwave at mid heat or mid low heat for 5 mins.
When it is finished, it is boiling hot and very thick. Add cold milk or water to cool it down and dilute it to the way you like.
I like to add pinch of salt, brown sugar, almond slice and raisins.

Yes, so you need a relatively big bowl. Med heat won't drive it
