I strongly feel doing computer work is like playing a electronics game: You do something, see it is correct or not, if not, you modify it, check the result again.
Specially, when manage the 24x7 high availability database systems used by multi-million people all over the world, you will feel you are playing a giant game machine.
Whenever the problem happens, no body know exactly the answer, you have to figure it out. You have to figure it out in a very short time. You have to make it correct in only one shot, because you have no way to do the test.
The job is not a scientific research, however, it is somehow like that.
It is a great pleasure if somebody pay you do something you want to do and enjoy doing it...
