This could be because the hiring company is still interviewing others. Most likely they like you but they want to find better one if there is a chance. If they realize you are the best so far and no better choice yet they will notify you to start on what what day.

Recruiter self has no control. For you, I'd suggest to put this in behind and continue your search. Good luck!
