"I got a lot helpful information from this forum. Now, I need your suggestions for my decision on a faculty offer. I have been a tenure-track assistant prof. for 2 years but don't satisfy the university environment (private) and the high living cost."
-- It is not easy to get into the tenure-track position, so stay with it unless you have to leave (or you are extremely not happy and you have to go anyway);

"I got a new offer from a state university in a lower living cost area. I think I like the environment and the people there, but the salary is way belowing my current salary. What is your suggestion? THank you very much."
-- Calculate how much $$ you finally put in to your pocket after all the cost, if you have more $$ left, it is worth to go, otherwise, forget it and keep looking others.
