Which house is better?

I have to decide which one to buy from the following 2 houses today to close escrow before new year. And I need your advice desperately.:)

2 houses, same price, same location, same lot size.

house 1: 2900 sqft. Traditional design.
4b+small loft/2.5b.
garage facing front.
backyard big.
beautiful exterior

house 2: 3500 sqft.
4b/3b+guest suite(1b/1b).
garage facing back.
no backyard.courtyard is half the size of the backyard of house 1 yet big enough for me.
so so exterior.

If I buy house 1, it will be the residence for my family.

If I buy house 2, it will be the residence for my family and also I will rent out the guest suite since it has a separate in/out path than the main house. The rent for this suite can be around $700~1000.

Financially, which house is better? How about phycologically?
