It all depends on how much return you are expecting from your fund. Buying CD and paying off your M on the house are no risk at all but the return will be low at about 4 to 8%. Another low risk way is to buy some mutual funds from Vanguard, TIAA-CREF etc. But you have to make the DDDD yourself. Good luck.
