I do not trust the inflation number government released. The more realiable inflation index is labor inflation index, that will tell how much other people will earn 30 years later. The historical average of labor inflation is 5% above typical inflation.
All i know is that 30 years later.
Typical engineer salary will be 1 million/year
Typical bay area house will be 10 million
Harvard 4 years tutition will be 2 million/4 year.
One bedroom apartment in NYC will be 10 million
Typical yearly health insurance of two will be 200K a year. One open heart operation will cost 10 million.
Using standard inflation, milk probably will still only be $10 per bottle, but who cares. I only need 1 bottle a week.
So, how much is the minimum $ for retirement. My calculation is 10 million by 2037. what is yours?
