in his 70s, grow up as a farm boy, ww2 veteran, self make RE millionair, used to own half of the city I am in, maybe worth 50 mil, started commerical development in the 60s, got rich, his RE company went public, sold his share, retire, his real job now is danating money to charity, every now and then you see his photo in the front page given money away.
anyway, he started collecting old chinese antique jade in the 60s, mainly 红山文化period jade, about 40 some pieces, invited me to look once, I was overwhelmed, I can't tell if they are real or not, but I had never seen so many pieces at one collection, not even in a museum, he said he bought them over a 40 year period from antique auction houses, just recently reappraised for 5mil, when he die, he will denated them to a Field Museum unless he can find someone that is really interest in them.
