If Nash didn't win 2 years in a row, I guess nobody will has any problem he gets it this year. Shaq and Dream both only get 1 regular season MVP. As for TD, he was injured last season, this season is the worst for him (stat-wise) except for last season. It's kind of a slap in the face to the league to give TD MVP this year. Kobe basically dumped all of his teammates, and officially became a scoring lone wolf. LBJ isn't that impressive, comparing to last year. TMac isn't consistent enough.
So, Dirk has made his case last year, and has been consistent for quite few years with good numbers, and his team is holding the best record this year. It's more of a choice shouldn't get too much argument with. It looks like a safe choice. Who would have thought that he totally shrunk in playoffs. I guess if I was Dirk, I would rather not to have this award.
On a side note, as I mentioned many times, Dallas blew a golden opportunity last year. Of course, Rockets blew a golden one this year.
