Why microdrive?

I would just get a CF card.

18-200mm VR is a good walk-around/travel lens. It is small and light to carry around without the need to change lens. However, if you are trying to photograph indoor events, it is not fast enough. You can get 24-70mm f/2.8 and 70-200mm f/2.8 VR. If those lenses are still not fast enough, get some prime lenses (in addition to these two zoom lenses).
