All customs brokerage firm are required to have a Power of Attorney on file prior to transacting any Customs business on the behalf of the importer of record. you didn't decribe more about you situation, I am just guessing that the broker asked you for "Power of Attorney", if so, what you need to do is ask the broker fax you a copy of the document, you need to fill in related infomation: your tax ID/your own SSN--if the goods are claim personal item;
or business tax ID/IRS# -- if the goods are for Business.
then you will sign the document and fax back to the broker, then he/she can do the work.
