总是听到中国人说在公司升不上去。我觉得看你自己了。中国人技术能力很强,想升上去,一定要 aggressive 一些。争取任何机会增加自己的 visiblity. 说说我的story, 当初我的manager maternity leave, 我觉得这是很好的机会 to work with my boss' boss directly。I worked really hard in that 3 months. I had another job opportunity after that. I talked with the big boss and implied that I would leave if they don't promote me. He promised to promote me within 6 month or a year. I still left because you never knew what would happen with that type of promise. They called me after one year with a higher title and much higher salary.有时跳槽也是一种手段。 但基本的一点是要和以前老板保持好的关系。让他觉得你是他的人,他才会想用更好的条件把你找回来。 至于你是不是真的喜欢她,只有你自己知道。和对你事业有帮助的人保持联系是没坏处的。
我的account 很大,和另一个manager一起做。一开始,不管client 还是internal department 都当我不存在。我事事很主动,他还没看email 呢,我已经做好发给客户了。 现在的情况和当初相反,全来找我。弄得我老板开始觉得我对他有威胁了。我当初也觉得是不是因为我是Asian woman, 人家才不理我。实际上只要你努力了,并不是这样的。The more you let this bothers you, the more this will bring you down.
我就觉得中国人管美国人不太好管。
