We may work in different industries. My industry is heavily deadlines driven and managers need to get their hands dirty(my friend told me that their managers just do management work). When we were really busy, my boss's boss even got involved with detail work. My boss could still talked on the phone with his friend while there was an emergency going on: 60 funds were paying capital gain dividends within an hour and we still didn't have accurate number yet.我快急死了，他居然还在电话上大笑。最后我们找来别的VP 帮忙，但这是他的client. It is hard for me to respect him after that. He used to be very higher up and got fired. He still works like a higher up now even he is not that high. I wish they can fire him again.
