I do not necessarily agree with your viewpoint. There was undeniably mass starvation which resulted in millions of unnatural death. Mao was primarily responsible for the tragedy. But to rest the blame solely on Mao was unfair for a variety of reasons……For a “fair” assessment of Mao, please read Colonel General Huang Ker-chen’s (yes, the same Huang of the Peng, Huang, Chang, Chou anti party clique) repeated comments regarding Mao in the early 80’s when there was a prevalent trend to repudiate Mao and his policies.
If anyone has access to Huang’s comment, please post it.
