I understand your point. The figure is always exaggerated in order to blemish Mao just like the popular saying that the Cultural Revolution caused the economy on the verge of collapse (even the official Resolute says that). Was it so except for the year 1967 and 1968? What was the average annual economic growth rate for the ten years between 1966 and 1976? Was it positive or negative rate?
