Rockville, Bethesda and Potomac areas are the best( rich, good schools and convenient) but also very expensive. You may also consider Gather*****urg and Germantown (less expensive and far away from subway lines, schools are not as good). My suggestion is to rent an appartment for half to one year and get familiar with the area before you want to buy a house to settle down.
