Rule number one: try not to mention your salary expectation until after they extend you an offer. If you have to, mention a wide range.

Second, you need to compare the entire compensation package, instead of merely base salary.

Assuming you total compensation is 90K in mid-west, it does not justify switching if you don't get *minumum* 120K (or even 130K) in SJ. Remember, I am only talking about monetary factor regardless of other factors such as career development, etc.
