这是大学本科毕业第一年的工资 连奖金的话可以差不多八万。
再来算一笔 30岁前赚一百万美金
Typical career path for Wall Street
1st year out of college (22 years old), location top i-bank, base 50K + bonus 20K = 70K
2nd year, i-bank, base 55K + bonus 25K = 80K
3rd year, b-school, negative 50K
MBA summer intern, 25K
4th year, b-school, negative 50K
4th year subtotal = 75K
After MBA
5th year, i-bank or hedge fund, base 100K + bonus 50K = 150K
6th year, i-bank or hedge fund, base 125K + bonus 100K = 225K
7th year, i-bank or hedge fund, base 150K + bonus 200K = 350K
8th year, i-bank of hedge fund, base 150K + bonus 300K = 450K
Conservatively speaking, by the 8th year (30 years old) you can be making around 500K, equivilant to CEO pay without stock options.
In hedge fund world, you can possibly participate in the fund's return by the 8th year. The math works as follows:
Base still 150K to 200K
Bonus Assuming $500 million fund x 20% return = $100 million x 20% management incentive = $20 million
You can possibly get $1 million out of the $20 million. Total pay is then $150K + $1 million = $1.15 million
Of course, up to you how to make that $1 million. And a high watermark could also hurt you.
Of course, you can also skip MBA and instead go for CFA. In that case, the schedule will accelerate by two years. And the opportunity cost is also lower.
