I started as intermiddiate level, not junior, after I got MS degree. I got promotion only after one year work. I felt very confident for my promotion due to my performance evaluation, so I sent very strong email for promotion. My manager is the kind person who is serious and make me a little bit nervous, I know he is kind, that's why I sent email to him.

You should tell him what you want. Here is US. If you never ask, you won't get the chance in most of cases.
