A team like that will never
work because of salary reason. Tim Duncan will be making 20 mil., Kobe 16 mil., and Yao 10 mil. That is 46 millions just for 3 players. That is over the current salary cap. Even if the cap raise by another $6 million 3 years from now, that means the Spurs will only have $2 million to sign the remaining 9 players. The Spurs can go over the cap to sign some players but that means the owner has to pay luxury tax that matches dollar to dollar for any salary over the cap. I don't think the San Antonio is large enough to support that kind of team. The line up you were proposing will only work in New York or LA. The New York Knicker currently has the highest payroll, which is close to $90mil,among all the NBA teams.
