The area of

the triangle = sqrt(3)/2 * a * a (where a is the side of the triangle). On the other hand, it is the sum of the 3 smaller triangles, with areas: 1/2 *3*a, 1/2 *4*a and 1/2*5*a respectively.
Therefore sqrt(3)*a = 3+4+5 or a=12/sqrt(3)
