a big no-no for real grill. I like your posts in general, but using lighter fuel as starter is a bad idea. You can taste the fume and other residues on grilled food, yuck!

If you ever watch Paul Raichlen, Bob Fray or other grill masters on TV, you'll see that when they use charcoal. Or pay a visit to Weber Restaraunt in Chicago to see it in action.
The instant starter charcoal briquette is also bad, maybe better than lighter fuel; there is a lot chemicals mixed in. And gives food weird taste.
One can also use turkey fryers to start charcoal, or use propane gas starters.
