Regarding a nurse job, it has nothing to do with the degree. It's because of the relationship of supply and demand. More demand and less supply pushed up the price, the basic of economics.

Even those MBAs and PHDs have a higher degree, they may still earn same as a nurse, because there are just too many MBAs and PHDs out there.

Besides, not every MBA or PHD earns more than $100k. It all depends on the circumstances.
