猎头问我要reference,我该给吗？

刚和一猎头电话聊了一阵儿，就是泛泛而谈，也没有听他说有什么open position.他让我发份resume和3 professional references. resume倒是没什么，但reference我该给吗？他们真得回去联系吗？我可不想工作还没着落，就让他们去bother人家。你们说说呢，我该给他吗？
