i have, from time to time, fancied myself as a photographer.
 
i gave up.
 
no more who-is-your-favorite-artist name-dropping-exercise;
no more pretend-to-be-HCB-but-don’t-know-who-HCB-is foolish-nonsense; and
no more they-take-point-and-shoot-snapshots-and-i-make-fine-art-photography narcissistic-bullshit.
 
take pictures.  be a picturetaker.  it’s more fun that way.
