Do not worry

He will be just fine as long as he gets a bachelor degree. If he does not want to teach or do research in the future he will be absolutely fine. He might be doing better than those who are studying well but with a bad character   Never judge a kid by whether they can study well or not. It is simply not right. 

If he can not study well he may do soothing else well. It simply like someone can sing. Some can dance. And some can read. You can never tell those who read well is better than those who sing well.
