学到 Rings, Fields等数学的是什么专业

见到一个初中老师，说起数学课选修的问题，他提到一门课，交什么Rings, Fields ... 我没记得很清楚，因为我不知道能修这样的数学课，将来大学要上什么专业，才会去学什么 环、场 之类的？
