Celiac disease detection began increasing in the United States before the introduction of GE

crops and the increased use of glyphosate. It appears to have increased similarly in the United Kingdom,

where GE foods are not typically consumed and glyphosate use did not increase. The data are not robust,

but they do not show a major difference in the rate of increase in incidence of celiac disease between the
