There are many types of HPV, only Type 16, 18, 31, 33 have high potential to cause cancer. Even if you are infected by those types of HPV, there is a good chance that you might not develop cancer. Management depends on the degree of cervical dysplasia. Usually the OB doctor will just closely follow you with Pap smear and colposcopy. When local cancer develops, they will do surgery at that time.
