stupid vaccine logic

If you read health news often, you might have known that a town in Oregon has high rate of parents who opt not to vaccinate their children. It is their right, but the CDC is working to pursue them to vaccinate their children.

One reasoning like many newspapers would say is that the un-vaccinated children would endanger those vaccinated children.

I am wondering why those who have received vaccine should fear that they will get diseases from those who did not get vaccinated. If the vaccine is not preventive why should they bother to get it in the first place.
