It is true that more doctors accept PPO than HMO. It is also true that HMO doctors get paid more from the insurance comany. All these are artifically created by the insurance comany. It is easy to understand that you would have to wait longer if you want to see a HMO doctor. The insurance comany hopes that during the waiting period, your illness would go away and you would not need to see a doctor any more, therefore, they don't have to pay.
