my mother had a very small tumor in 甲状腺 several years ago. The doctor actually cleared the tumor with all the 甲状腺. Meaning, she has no 甲状腺 now any more. She need to take drug for life to keep the level of hormone. I don't know if this is helpful to you or not.

She did the operation in Hangzhou, zhejiang.
