Impression
IMPRESSION: 1. Complex lesion in the LEFT ovary. This may reflect a hemorrhagic cyst or endometrioma. Consider follow-up ultrasound in 12 weeks. 2. Small uterine fibroid.
Narrative
INDICATION: follow up ovarian cyst COMPARISON: 2/1/2022 TECHNIQUE: Transabdominal and endovaginal sonographic images were obtained of the pelvis. This scan was performed with the patient's verbal consent. REPORT: Uterus: The uterus measures 10.9 x 6.8 x 3.8 cm. There is an ANTERIOR intramural fibroid measuring 1.0 x 0.6 x 0.4 cm. Endometrial complex: Measures 6 mm in thickness. No focal mass or abnormal vascularity is detected. Ovaries: The right ovary measures 3.0 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm. The left ovary measures 3.9 x 3.6 x 3.1 cm. There is a complex lesion in the LEFT ovary, measuring approximately 3.3 x 3.0 x 2.9 cm on transabdominal images, with low level internal echoes. On endovaginal images, this measures at least 2.7 x 2.6 x 2.4 cm, with suggestion of an internal septation and low-level internal echoes partially obscured by shadowing. This may reflect a hemorrhagic cyst or endometrioma. There was a complex hypoechoic lesion with low level internal echoes in the LEFT ovary on the prior study measuring 2.8 x 2.2 x 1.8 cm. No suspicious adnexal mass is seen on either side. Free fluid: No significant free fluid.
