I guess they have sort of merit scholarship which is $10K per year and only require keep 2.75 gpa in 4 years. Not all kids will get it, you have to reach to certain condition in order to have it. Those kids who were by those top colleges they would never be able to get this scholars. For engineering, it is just after Cal Tech. The Cal Tech graduation rate for this year was 54% without counting how many kids left early. Smile for your kid who's in Cal Tech currently!
