小学教育的困惑

其实一直在想这事，昨天发生的事让我觉得得听听大家的经历。星期一老师让学生回家跟家长玩一扑克牌游戏，本质上就是做十以内的加法（二年级）。我用中文跟女儿说，“这个游戏对你太简单了，你学不到新东西，我教你另外一个吧”。没想到，第二天上课要做数学游戏时，女儿跟大家说（英文）“"My mom says that the math games we are doing in class don't teach me anything." 结果就是我收到了老师的EMAIL.

这事当然得说清楚了。这也让我又想起长期以来的困惑：到底该不该给小孩超前教育（前提是她能接受）？平心而论，美国的小学数学教育确实太简单了（当然有很多方面比中国的要好）。对此大家有什么经历或建议吗？多谢！
