But the grades in spring term for freshmen are
A/B/C/no records instead of D, F.

Too bad. Freshmen pass/fail was a popular policy, obviously it helped a lot of drinking on campus. To quote:

from licking the dew from rocks to drinking from a fire hose.
Had not been for pass/fail, I would have drowned.”
