Figure skating is still the top viewed winter Olympic sport.

Figure skating viewers who are more into artistic side of the sport enjoy the comfortable sitting indoor environment. Middle aged women are the base fans for this sport.

While ski jump can't be watched comfortablly, it is out door and not easy to get around. Viewers more focus on the high speed and high risk natures.
