how to define feeder school? what are good spike and hook?

if one public school hd sent a couple of kids averagely each year to a T5 school in the last 5+ years, is it considered a feeder school? Or it more refer to private school that has connections?

Also what are good exabples of spike and hook?

feel that have not done enough homework as a parent
