About 12 percent of freshmen at the Ivy League school this fall identify as Black or African American, down from 14 percent in 2024, according to data the school released Thursday. The number of freshmen who identify as Latino or Hispanic dropped to 11 percent, down from 16 percent the year before. By contrast, the portion of Asian American students climbed from 37 percent in 2024 to 41 percent this year. Harvard said students were allowed to select more than one race, while 8 percent declined to disclose their race or ethnicity. It did not list the portion of White students.
