Depends on your boy.

If he likes academic staff, and follow teacher, and can concentrate for some time, why not option 2?

Option 1 sounds a daycare, not a preschool.

If your boy doesn't have problem with structured environment, I suggest you pick option 2. Otherwise chose 1.
