我儿子说,打字课教得太容易,也boring, 但是作业难,Alcumus难。
我email了AOPS:
Dear AOPS,
I am a parent of a student in Dr. xx's xxx class. While I intended to contact the instructor directly, I was unable to find an available email address. I would appreciate it if you could kindly forward my feedback to Dr. xx.
My child has shared that while the in-class material feels somewhat basic and, at times, less engaging, the homework and Alcumus assignments are significantly more challenging. This gap seems to create some difficulty in bridging the concepts taught in class with the expectations of the assignments.
Would it be possible for Dr. xx to address this gap to better support the students? Your attention to this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your time and understanding.

Thank you for reaching out and for your feedback! This is the correct email address to reach out to if you have any questions or concerns.
Our instructional team was able to review the instructor's classes and Dr. xx is following the curriculum that our team has laid out for the instructors! So, while he won't be able to change the content of the class greatly, we are happy to clarify further.
The homework problems won't be exactly the same as problems that were covered in class, but students should be able to apply the concepts and problem-solving strategies they learned from the reading assignment and class to complete the homework assignment each week! In general, the homework problems in our courses are designed to get students to apply what they've learned in new and creative ways as we believe this allows students to build a deeper understanding of what they've learned. This additional challenge between the content of the class and the homework can be difficult, so we recommend that students post on the class message board if they aren't sure how the problems or concepts discussed in class relate to the homework! Our staff will then be able to clarify further about how to connect the concepts to the homework and work through the problems.
Students can also review the "When You Get Stuck" page of our School Handbook for additional tips about what to do when they're having trouble with a homework problem (including advice for how to make the most out of posting on the message board):
Finally, for Alcumus in particular, since Alcumus is adaptive, it could be that your student might be solving several Alcumus problems correctly in a row which results in more challenging problems being assigned. So, if Alcumus is too challenging, we would recommend that he doesn't spend too much time on a particular problem if he isn't able to work through it, and click the "Give Up" button instead. After doing this, Alcumus will begin assigning easier problems until it is an appropriate challenge for him.
If we can assist with anything else or if you have any further questions, please let us know! I'm also happy to discuss this over a phone call as well if you prefer, just let us know and we would be happy to set something up.
Kind Regards,
