本科生选研究生的课都有什么好处？

儿子的一个数学教授很喜欢他，说要帮他春季quarter选一门数学专业研究生院的课，前提是不能转学。

儿子在读CS和数学双学位。我不太清楚大一就读研究生的课，但毕业还是拿本科学位。这早早读研究生的课对将来发展有什么帮助？如果儿子想接着读研，但本科就把研究生的一部分课读完了，那读硕士研究生还有什么课可学的？
