一般在九年级就能确定专业方向了吗？

今天听了两个妈妈的经验，都说 counselor九年级就请了，主要是为了十年级以上选课，和为summer安排有针对性的活动。她们还说九年级时娃已经很清楚自己的方向了，所以才请的counselor, 一个要学CS Robotics, 一个要学business law.

这个有普遍性吗? 我好奇九年级的娃真的清楚自己将来想做什么吗？如果没想清楚，counselor怎么帮你选课选活动呢？比如学CS和学法律的，选课选活动有啥共同性吗？

我们这个私高的counselor要到十一年级才全面介入，好些家长嫌太晚，在外面自雇counselor.
