关于need-based financial aid

提交申请之后收到几所大学的邮件，有的让conform the applicant does not intend to apply for need-based financial aid，有的让apply for financial aid，但我们的家庭收入和资产情况肯定是不符合条件的，女儿在common app上选的是not intended for need-based financial aid，也没有填过FAFSA 或CSS。这样是不是就不用管它了？我的理解是收入超标拿不到资助就选择"not intended for fianncial aid"
