I was described as smart as far as I could remember literally by everyone who know me...and...I become so afraid of failure and looking dumb... I know that with time goes by, this fear has become a fetal weakness in my personality...I subconsciouly or consciouly would stay in a circle that I know that I could be No.1 without too much effort...and I know that because of fear, I've missed many opportunity in life....

This excellent article is right on point....This is the first time that I've ever seen someone who put in words of a common problem which is probably shared by many so called "smart" kid...
