我们小镇的W先生前几天把公司给卖了，退休了。

公司一共卖了190 million, W先生独得100米。

当年W先生读了2年社区大学，转到旗舰州化学系毕业，到UC Berkeley 生化毕业后又倒旗舰州大儆了几年博士后，最后到了我们这个苦寒小镇做基因研究。

搞研究第一是要喜欢，第二要努力，第三要运气。W先生一步一个脚印在诊所附属的小小的研究所搞的风声水起。不断地有CNS文章发表，也弄了几千万NIH Grant, 实验室也养了几十号人。

但水满则溢，月盈则亏。

终于有一天，人类基因组图谱研究完工了。研究经费也干涸了。

W 先生看着几十号即将失业的员工，不尽一阵悲伤从心中生起。为了保护手下人的饭碗，为何不背水一战：开个检测基因公司？

说干就干，自己拿出2个米，带着十几个人，开始了艰难，富有挑战的创业之路。

十几年过去，公司人数增加到了200多人，产值也到了每年几十个米。

社区大学，火坑专业不要紧，

关键是与时并进，勤奋好学，不以物喜， 不以己悲，把握好机会，也一定能够创造辉煌的人生。
